Volrammos. Thats the spanish word for summer vacation. And in Sweden it is definitely summer vacation at the moment (even if the weather, as usual, do not agree). As you may see, im left alone to run this mess while the others are having fun elsewere. Evanston for example, where our good friend Ruben is at the moment, painting aquarelle-paintings and trying to find his vibe again.
So, to make this post just a little bit worthy of your seconds, of course i have added a song. Its from the brand new (kind of) album Cosita Buena by Cuban hiphop-latino-carribean-world music-(God, do i hate that word? yes I do) group Orishas and it is sweet, summery, latinoish and promises of better places to be than Stockholm - who just stole the title "City of Wind" from Chicago. Sorry Common, sorry Kanye!
Orishas - Camina
Gracias. Ciao.

I keep on pushing Jean Grae as possibly the tightest rapper alive ... Ok, you laugh, but on her latest album, The Orchestral files, she litterally kills whatever beat or feature rapper they throw at her...

You will grab your beer so tightly.
Perhaps you’ll fall in love?

Reclaim!
Me: Hello, my name is Linus and ten years ago I was a “reclaim the streeter”.
You: hello Linus!
Me: I had dreadlocks, dirty clothes and listened only at Looptroop.
You: aaaaw... poor kid... (you whisper to your friend so I cant hear)
The biggest buzz in sweden right now, except that Jay-Z is coming to town tomorrow (someone should make a post about that!), is our governments proposal for a new, crazy "big brother surveillance law" called FRA and all of a sudden the newspapers politics sections, even the "right wing ones" are filled with the stuff we shouted at the 1st of may ten years ago...
So in celebration of all dirty white men with dreadlocks and extreme left opinions, heres a real classic:

Ambivalence
I have this really ambivalent relation to the music of Santogold. Love it, but I tend to find something cheesy in it at the same time, it’s hard to define what, but some songs just feels so… Beyoncé?
Schanywayz, this was the topic of discussion at a party I was attending, when dis fella shows up from nowhere. Apparently he’s this super cool dude who’s like the ultimate music guru like knows everything profoundly.
Well shouldn’t been that hard to guess, judging from his super-trendy expensive outfit. I mean, it’s so well matched! I was able to take this one photo of those beautiful stripes before he slapped me in the face and told me never to say anything bad about Santogold again.
I do like this song though.

Zibbelidongdong!
The summer is short, and if you blink (reading blogs instead of drinking beer outside somewhere..) it might have passed before you know it.. So I continue with Rubens sweet summer tunes:
Alborosie - Kingston Town
Alborosie is, according to last.fm, an italian singer based in Kingston.. hmm..
Anyway, without saying to much, he kind of reminds me of Burro Banton or maybe Damian Marley..
Nanko - Lucky You
I think this was pretty much a one hit wonder - Which doesnt seem to be a unusual thing when it comes to vocoder singers (T-Pain excluded ofcourse)..

Krazy Fiesta is crazy good.
This is a housy refix of a new Loop Troop-tune; summery-sweet with a pleasantly annoying itch of lounge, yet full of character. It dances over your ear-drums turning rap into r’n’b, flipping the facts and fully forming it into electronic.
It’s obvious, nonetheless edgy – just like a pair of bright yellow glasses in the summer.
